Teachers can use Edmodo to enhance instruction in many ways.  As Edmodo has a similar format to other social media platforms, the level of student engagement in using edmodo is high. This is a very strong base upon which to build.  As the students are engaged, they are likely to want to read the posts and the assignments and complete them so they are submitted online.  A great feature of edmodo is the discussion feature.  The teacher, or students, can begin a thread base don what was discussed in class.  By doing this the concepts of the lesson are reinforced and the students are exposed to multiple perspectives.  The online platform also provides opportunity for the more introverted students to have a voice and participate.  When participating online, students will also take greater care in their grammar, spelling and answers.

Teachers can create polls based on a reading, create quizzes, and flip a lesson.  In math, for example, a teacher can create a screen recording of a mathematical process and then provide additional video on real world applications.  The students can post questions or comments about the video. The next day the students can actually apply the principles they learned about the night before. This allows for students to have access to the teacher during the actual implementation process, resulting in higher levels of understanding. By reviewing the comments, the teacher has an idea of the areas of difficulty before the next class.
